The Educated Eye | Southwest Regional Conference
October 15-17th, 2004
At the University of Colorado at Denver at the Auraria Campus Downtown Denver.

Please join us in Denver Colorado for the SouthWest Regional

Conference “The Educated Eye” on Friday October 15, Saturday October 16 and Sunday October 17th hosted by the University of Colorado at Denver. This event will celebrate the nature of photographic vision and explore the relationship between image and audience. The conference will take place on the Auraria Campus located in downtown Denver. Emmet and Elijah Gowin will jump start the festivities with a keynote address on Friday evening that will explore their uniquely shared photographic

experiences as father and son. On Saturday there will be a two-track series of panel discussions and presentations by artists and scholars. Conference goers should bring a portfolio of prints as portfolio reviews will be scheduled throughout the day on Saturday.  We will cut loose on Saturday evening with the famous SPE bus tours to exhibition openings hosted by organizations and galleries throughout the Denver Metropolitan area.  On Sunday we hope that everyone will join us for the inspiring portfolio sharing event from 9:00am-12:00. Exhibition opportunities for members will include a member’s juried show and student juried show that will open on Saturday night during the bus tour. The conference Co-Chairs are Joann Brennan, Angie Buckley and Carol Golemboski.
